Good luck with your quest OP - let us know what you end up doing and how you like it. I find it's a very lively and airy and complex guitar, with a "jangle" in the high end that translates to an edge with gain, though I don't find the Treble unpleasant in any way. That said, I can certainly understand wanting a mellowed set of pickups in it. The P90s sound very good to me - better than the Reverend P90s in my Roundhouse and as good as the Lollars in my Godin Icon, though different - and though they may be on the hotter side of the spectrum I feel that I get a nice working "jazz tone" from them using the guitar's tone and volume controls and amp settings. I've had my Casino Coupe a couple days now, and have been very happy with it. New wiring harness with 500K full sized pots- Black bee capacitors - All cloth or braided wiring- Gibson knobs with pointers- Custom USA. Personally I think they're both great guitars. As a Casino enthusiast, I've done several comparison videos, and my latest is a shootout between the Standard & Coupe. These are really nice guitars but need upgrades in a few areas. Either way, you might want to pull the existing pickups first and take a look at them to make sure replacements would fit in the covers/cavities. Beautiful Epiphone Casino Coupe with huge upgrades. I wonder if a custom rewind or custom made set might be the way to go. How would you replace the P90s in the Casino Coupe? You would have to put whatever pickups you bought into the Casino covers I guess? The covers actually set the height for the pickups to, so that has an affect on any replacement you might try.
